Mom and Dad

One of my favorite photos of mom and dad. Taken during our wedding in 2007.

Dear mom and dad,  thank you for all your love, guidance, wisdom and support.  We are very lucky to have you.  We love you!

(Like my other blogs, Counting Our Blessings is sporting a new look too!  Just like From Drab to Fab, the image that I used for the header here is a free download from Yummy Lolly.)

Chillaxing at Home with Family

We stayed at home today and practically lazed the day away doing our own thing -- Aly was glued to her PSP all afternoon, Richard was on the couch reading an ebook, I browsed through my old magazines and surfed the internet.  We were still in our pajamas at 5pm.  We were THAT lazy!  But in a good way because we were all so chill and relaxed.  I just love it!  The holidays are winding down so we're trying to make the most of it.  Soon, I will be home alone again when they go back to work and school.

For now, I will savor every lazy minute with my two loveys; chillin' like a villain at home.  Thank goodness for holidays and lazy days!

Holiday

Same time last year in Pattaya.
a
a
Richard's on a week-long holiday and Aly's on a two-week break.  Any hands-on/stay-at-home mom would know that when the rest of the family is on  holiday, the mommies work double-time, overtime because there's more that needs to be done at home: more cooking, more cleaning up, etc.  I think I made a mistake by opting to stay at home.  It's only Tuesday and I'm getting stressed and sungit.  Yikes!  I think I will be more relaxed if we were at the beach or in some resort elsewhere.  Oh well...
a
a
But I'm not really the type who likes to dwell on the negative.  I like to look at the brighter side of things so for this holiday, I'm thankful for:
a
a
  • Having the hubby and daughter with me all day all week, so we're doing a lot of family things together: watching movies, groceries, etc.
  • Even if there's more work to be done, I'm thankful that my husband doesn't mind sharing the workload with me.  There's nothing more sexy than a husband washing dishes or hanging up the laundry.  Heehee!
  • Playdates that keep the daughter busy for a couple of hours so I get to blog and Richard can read a book -- exactly what we're doing right now.  Heehee!

So, hooray for the holidays! :)

Stress Reliever

One of my favorite photos with Aly.  Hua Hin, September 2009

Yesterday was the longest day ever: doctor's appointment in the morning, Songkran party in the afternoon, last-minute preps for Aly's school thing, our usual daily activities and some new routines in between...Hindi lang stress drilon at haggardo versoza; samahan mo pa ng pagoda cold wave lotion.  Haha!!  That's stressed, haggard and pagod in normal speak.  Heehee!
a
a
It took a lot of effort not to be sungit to anybody.  Believe me, it wasn't easy!  But it all vanished when Aly told me:
a
a
"You're the best person that I ever met mommy!"
a
a
That's her way of thanking me for helping her with her school preps.  She doesn't really have to thank me because it's my job, but hearing her say those words makes it all worth it.  She's my stress reliever.  I just love being a mom :)

Aly's Bible Exam

This morning on our way to school, Aly and I bumped into her Bible teacher, Mr. Gerido (he's a Filipino).  He told us that Aly scored the highest in class on their Bible exam.  Yay!

Great job, Aly!  Mommy and daddy are proud of you, love!
