A Tiny Note that's Big on Thoughtfulness

Richard prepares our morning drink: coffee for me and Milo for Aly.  We're spoiled, I know and we're grateful for that.  One time after bringing Aly to school, the 2nd grade mommies invited me to Starbucks across the street for coffee but I had to decline.  I told them that my husband makes me coffee in the morning and they said I was lucky.  I really am :)

Anyway, last week, Aly and I woke up to this:

Our morning drinks (mine was still in the coffee maker but my cup already has sugar and creamer) came with a little surprise.

A note to Aly from daddy.  How thoughtful!

The 2nd grade mommies are wrong.  I'm not lucky.  I'm very, VERY, lucky :)

No Hate, Only Love

The Valdezes in Tagaytay on new year's eve.
a
a
I tried to meet the new year with love and positivity but certain issues still came up that left me hurt and upset.  But, I refuse to let these things bring me down.  I just say to myself that I probably do not mean much to these people for them to hurt me this way.  So why should I care?
a
a
Never look at what you have lost.
Always look at what is left with you.

a

I try my best to brush these things aside, but it's hard not to think about them because they really hurt me.  However, I don't want to start my year with negativity.    I don't want to hate.  Besides, I have Richard, Aly, my family in Tagaytay, friends and relatives that I hold close to my heart.  I am blessed with more people whom I love and who I know love me back than with ones who don't.  Yesterday during mass, I prayed for strength so I can rid myself of any negative feelings.  I also prayed for the haters so that they will have more love in their hearts :)
a
a
Whatever you give to life, it gives you back.
Do not hate anybody.
The hatred which comes out from you will someday comeback to you.
Love others.  And love will comeback to you.

During our last day in Tagaytay, I received so many messages from friends via text and Facebook, all wishing us a safe trip and thanking us for the time that we spent with them during the holidays.  Some were unexpected, but all were equally overwhelming.  I told Richard that I should be sad about leaving, but all that love made me really happy.  I guess we must be doing something good to deserve all that.

I have the best family and friends ever!  Thank you Lord for all the blessings.
