Bangle From Aly

I wore this the other day:
a
a
A purple bangle that Aly bought from my sister-in-law's shop using her own money.
a
a
This was Aly's pasalubong for me when she had a sleepover at my in-laws'.  She got purple because she knows it's my favorite color.  I love how she always remembers to buy trinkets for me or her dad.  She used to do this during their weekly field trips last summer.  I kept all of them.  I'm lucky to have such a sweet and thoughtful daughter :)

Things That Make Me Happy: Weekday Lunch with the Hubby

Because they don't come very often, that's why I cherish them.

Even if it's just takeout lunch, I still get kilig :)

P.S The Japanese food from Richard's office canteen rocks!

God Heard Me

This is just too amazing not to share...
a
a
When I was at Lalaisap (lunch market at Silom) today, the sky was dark.  I was there at 11am, but with the overcast sky, it felt like 4pm.  I knew it would rain anytime.  But I didn't bring an umbrella, so I prayed to God that He won't let it rain while I was there.  So I walked around, ate lunch and walked around some more.  There was a slight drizzle at around 1pm, but I prayed again: "Please, God, just a little bit more.  Please don't let it rain while I'm still here."  Still, I prepared myself in case it did rain.  You will never know, right?
a
a
I managed to make a quick stop at Dean and Deluca before going home and it started drizzling a bit when I left.  Still, I made it to the cab dry and as we were on the last turn going to our street, this happened:
a
a
It started to rain.

Taken from inside the cab.

Amazing, isn't it?  I am one lucky gal.  Thank you, Lord for hearing my prayer and for keeping me dry :)

What Makes Me Smile

...watching father and daughter do things together.
a
a
Here, Richard is helping Aly with her reading log homework.  They always read a book together at night and I admire Richard for doing this.  No matter how tired he is from work, he always makes time for bedtime story.  It's their nightly ritual.

Breakfast Love

Made by the hubby with love.
a

Richard makes my morning coffee (yes, I'm a princess!) but today I got an extra treat :)  I woke up this morning to the wonderful smell of croissant baking in the oven...heaven!  What a great way to start the week!

Sunset

The sunset view from our new apartment is absolutely breathtaking!  I also love how no two sunsets are alike.

It either makes me stop in my tracks or drop whatever I'm doing and just stare out the window.

I always share this with Aly and she loves it!

Love Thy Neighbor

I helped out a neighbor in need today.
a
a
I was on my way back to the apartment from Aly's school when I heard someone behind me give out a loud, frustrated sigh.  I turned around and saw that it was my neighbor, Maria.  I asked if she's ok, and she said she needed resealable bags for her daughter's homework.  They didn't have any at 7-11 and she needed them right away.  I always keep a box of those at home so I invited her over to my house and I gave her some.  It felt really good to make someone smile.  It was a small gesture but it definitely set my day right :)

Pat on the Back

Our first out of town trip when we were still dating.  Galera, May 2007
a

Being a housewife is not an easy job.  Ask any of my stay-at-home mommy friends and they will tell you that it's an 18-hour, 7-day-a-week job with no holidays, no sick leaves and no day-offs.  Daig pa talaga ang magtrabaho sa opisina.  That's why I say that I'm not just a housewife; I'm a domestic goddess :D
a
a
I am lucky to be married to a man who values my work, but I was never really given any affirmation as to how much he appreciates my work until last night.  Richard and I were having our usual pillow talk and our topic was a certain friend of ours who is currently unemployed.  Being the workaholic that he is, Richard was wondering how this friend of ours can just sit around and do nothing all day.  I told him that this person's life is no different from mine: I just stay in the house all day and wait for him and Aly to come home.  But the hubby refused to think that I'm just lazing around and being idle.  He said that my job is not easy.  In fact, I'm always busy: I do the laundry, I clean the house, iron our clothes, blog, cook and buy groceries...
a
a
That was definitely a pat on the back.  Thank you, sweetie for appreciating my work.  It means a lot to me :)
